Relational Database Design & High-Performance SQL Optimization

Authored advanced SQL queries to perform data integrity checks and backend validation within relational database management systems.

Designed, implemented, and optimized a robust relational database schema using PostgreSQL to power an enterprise-grade Educational Resource Management System. The project involved creating complex multi-table relationships, ensuring strict data normalization, and implementing performance-tuning strategies to handle concurrent academic data transactions efficiently.

A poorly structured database can lead to data redundancy, integrity loss, and severe query latencies when multiple users fetch records simultaneously. The technical challenge consisted of mapping intricate academic hierarchies (linking courses, multi-role user permissions, resource tags, and dynamic metadata) into a normalized structure while keeping query response times minimal under concurrent data load simulations.

Engineered a scalable, secure database architecture utilizing PostgreSQL. I applied normalization principles to eliminate data redundancy and designed a secure configuration isolating credentials through environment routing. To maximize efficiency, I implemented a server-side connection pool manager (pg.Pool) within the application layer, ensuring smooth database transaction cycles and avoiding connection bottlenecks during high-traffic resource allocation requests.
